Accessibility

Our commitment to digital accessibility, the conformance status of this website, and how to report a barrier or request an accommodation.

Effective Date: August 23, 2026
Last Updated: August 24, 2026

Ashley L. Howarth, MD Plastic Surgery, PLLC (the “Practice”) is committed to ensuring that howarthplasticsurgery.com (the “Site”) is accessible to individuals with disabilities, including individuals who access the Site using screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, speech recognition software, or other assistive technology. This Accessibility Statement describes the standard against which the Site is measured, the measures undertaken to support accessibility, the current conformance status of the Site, and the procedures by which assistance may be requested and barriers reported.

1. Reference Standard

The Practice uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as the reference standard for the Site. WCAG 2.1 defines requirements intended to make web content more accessible to individuals with a wide range of disabilities.

2. Conformance Status

The Site conforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the exception of certain third-party content described in Section 4. The Practice reviews the Site against the reference standard as content and functionality change, and addresses any nonconformance identified through that review or reported under Section 7.

3. Measures to Support Accessibility

The Practice undertakes the following measures to support accessibility of the Site: (a) provision of descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images; (b) use of headings, landmarks, and document structure that convey the organization of each page to assistive technology; (c) selection of color and typography intended to provide legible contrast; (d) implementation of responsive layouts that support magnification and reflow on small screens; (e) provision of visible labels for form controls; and (f) support for keyboard access to navigation and interactive elements, including target sizes sufficient for touch input. Accessibility considerations are incorporated into the development and review of new pages.

4. Third-Party Content

Certain functionality made available through the Site is provided by third parties, including embedded review displays, online scheduling, video, and mapping services. The Practice selects vendors with accessibility in mind but does not control the code such vendors deliver and cannot ensure its conformance. Where third-party functionality presents a barrier, the Practice will provide the information or service by an alternative means as described in Section 7.

5. Compatibility and Technical Specifications

The Site is designed to be compatible with current versions of major web browsers used together with current versions of common assistive technologies. Accessibility of the Site relies on the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. Combinations of older browsers and older assistive technology may not be fully supported.

6. Assessment Approach

The Practice assesses the accessibility of the Site through internal review, including automated testing and manual evaluation using keyboard navigation and assistive technology, and through feedback received from users of the Site.

7. Feedback and Reporting of Barriers

If any page, document, or feature of the Site is difficult or impossible for you to use, the Practice requests that you report the barrier using the contact information in Section 11, identifying the page or feature at issue and describing the difficulty encountered. The Practice will acknowledge reports promptly and will work to remedy the barrier. Pending remediation, the Practice will make the information or service available to you by an alternative means, including by telephone, in writing, or in person, according to your preference.

8. Requests for Accommodation

Individuals requiring an accommodation in connection with an office visit, including accessible parking, assistance completing forms, additional appointment time, or auxiliary aids and services such as a qualified sign language interpreter, are requested to notify the Practice at the time of scheduling so that appropriate arrangements may be made.

9. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive to a report submitted under Section 7, you may request that the matter be escalated to Practice management by so indicating in your communication. The Practice will review escalated matters and respond in writing.

10. Review and Updates

The Practice reviews the Site against the reference standard on a periodic basis and following significant changes to the Site, and updates this Accessibility Statement accordingly. This Statement was last reviewed on the Last Updated date set forth above.
