What is a Labiaplasty Revision?

Labiaplasty revision is a secondary surgical procedure performed to refine or correct the results of a prior labiaplasty. This may involve addressing uneven contours, excess tissue, scar tissue, or functional issues that were not fully resolved—or were introduced—by the original surgery.

Dr. Howarth approaches each revision with careful attention to your anatomy, goals, and previous surgical history. Her focus is on creating a result that feels balanced, comfortable, and aligned with your personal vision—whether that means restoring symmetry, improving sensitivity, or refining the aesthetic outcome.

Why Women Consider Labiaplasty Revision

Physical Discomfort

If discomfort during movement, intimacy, or daily life persists after the initial procedure, revision can address remaining or newly developed areas of irritation.

Excess Scarring

Some patients are left with too much tissue, scarring, or tension after surgery. Labiaplasty revision can refine these areas for a softer, more natural outcome.

Aesthetic Concerns

Expectations and reality don’t always align. Revision allows women to pursue an outcome that feels more refined, balanced, and aligned with their preferences.

Reclaim Confidence

For many women, revision is about reclaiming a sense of control, restoring confidence, and achieving an outcome that truly feels right.

How do I know if I need a labiaplasty revision?

If you’re unhappy with the results of a previous labiaplasty—due to asymmetry, discomfort, visible scarring, or over- or under-resection—revision may be appropriate. Dr. Howarth will assess your anatomy and surgical history to determine the best course of action.

What is recovery like after revision surgery?

Recovery is similar to primary labiaplasty but may involve more sensitivity depending on the extent of correction. Most patients resume light activity within a few days. Detailed aftercare is provided to support a smooth healing process.

Will I have visible scars?

While some prior scar tissue may be present, Dr. Howarth places new incisions carefully to minimize additional scarring and improve overall contour and texture.

Can revision surgery improve discomfort?

Yes. Many women seek revision to relieve ongoing irritation or tightness caused by their original surgery. Dr. Howarth focuses on restoring both comfort and balance.

Is sensation affected by revision surgery?

Dr. Howarth uses refined techniques to avoid nerve disruption. While prior surgeries may affect the area, her approach is focused on preserving remaining sensitivity wherever possible.

Is labiaplasty revision more complex than the original procedure?

Often, yes. Revision requires advanced surgical judgment and a deep understanding of tissue healing and prior alterations. Dr. Howarth is known for her meticulous approach to complex revision cases.

How much does labiaplasty revision cost in Scottsdale?

Costs depend on the extent of correction needed and whether additional procedures are included. A detailed quote is provided at your consultation.

Can revision be combined with other procedures?

Yes. Clitoral hood reduction, scar revision, or adjustments to the labia majora may be performed at the same time, depending on your needs.
