What should I expect during the procedure?
On the day of your procedure, Dr. Howarth will review with you your surgical plan, answer any last-minute questions, and provide care instructions. Your procedure will take placed at the Paradise Valley Cosmetic Surgery Center, which is a world-class facility conveniently located adjacent to our office.
A brow lift is generally an out-patient procedure performed under general anesthesia. You will need someone to drive you to and from surgery, and plan on staying with you the night following your procedure for your safety and comfort.
If your brow lift is combined with other procedures resulting in a longer surgery, Dr. Howarth may recommend overnight stay at our comfortable recovery suite.
What is recovery like after a brow lift?
Recovery from brow lift surgery varies from patient to patient and depending on the surgical approach. However, most patients are comfortable returning to work and routine activities 10 – 14 days following the procedure.
Expect some pain and swelling during the first several days, which can be comfortably managed using Dr. Howarth’s pain management protocol. To minimize the long-term visibility of scarring, Dr. Howarth also provides a scar care protocol for her brow lift patients.
Complete healing and dissipation of swelling takes months, and the final results of your surgery will be realized up to six months following your brow lift surgery.
